Down The Hole Hammer

Down-the-Hole refers to where the hammer action occurs when compared to drifter hammers, which hammer on top of the drill string. The DTH hammer piston always makes direct contact with the drill bit and there is generally no loss of transmitted energy as the hammer drills deeper, as is the case with drifter (top hammer) rigs.

DTH hammers are working units of DTH drill rigs, which drive piston forth and back to impact DTH bits for breaking stones by compressed air. The DTH hammers are divided into low air pressure DTH hammers (0.5～0.7Mpa), middle air pressure DTH hammers (0.7～1.2Mpa) and high air pressure DTH hammers (above 1.2 Mpa) regarding air pressure, DTH hammers with foot valves and DTH hammers without foot valves regarding air distribution models and structures, and normal DTH Hammers and reverse DTH hammers regarding flushing models. The DTH hammers are widely used in open-pit mining, underground mining, anchoring, quarrying, construction, etc.
