Choosing the appropriate drill bit is crucial when drilling for different types of rocks. The following are drill bits and their characteristics suitable for different types of rocks:

Hard alloy drill bits:

Applicable to: almost all types of rocks, especially rocks and minerals with a hardness greater than or equal to 7.

Features: Made of cobalt and carbides, it has high strength and rigidity, and good wear resistance. When using, attention should be paid to adding coolant to prevent overheating deformation and reduce the lifespan of the drill bit.

Diamond drill bit:

Suitable for: particularly hard rocks, such as basalt, granite, gneiss, etc.

Features: The materials used are artificial diamond and natural diamond, with much higher hardness and wear resistance than hard alloy drill bits. Due to its high cost, it is generally only used in projects with special requirements.

Other special drill bits:

Impact drill: suitable for drilling ceramic tiles and concrete, especially suitable for rocks with high hardness and requiring impact crushing.

Pagoda drill: Its unique blade design makes it suitable for fast drilling and can be used for drilling operations on various rocks.

Overlord drill: With two spiral grooves at the tip, it can take out the chips generated by drilling and keep the hole clean. It is suitable for various materials such as wood, ceramic tiles, marble, steel pipes, concrete, and some rocks.

Induction and Summary:

When drilling rocks with low or medium hardness, hard alloy drill bits are an economical and efficient choice.

For particularly hard rocks, diamond drill bits are the best choice, but their cost is higher.

Specially designed drill bits, such as impact drills, pagoda drills, and king drills, can provide more efficient drilling performance in specific situations, but need to be selected based on specific rock types and operational requirements.

In practical applications, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the selection of appropriate drill bit types and specifications based on the specific hardness, wear resistance, structural characteristics, and drilling process requirements of the rock.
